Broadcasting has changed immeasurably in recent years as a rich heritage of industry-specific innovation has been upended by the arrival of IT-centric production. Progress has accelerated on the technology side at just the same time as consumer demand for new formats such as Ultra High Definition and on-demand services has skyrocketed. Data transport and storage requirements have scaled impressively as a result. Broadcasting is about far more than just carrying data, however. It is a unique industry with unique demands and requires specialist knowledge and depth of experience to ensure that appropriate IT solutions are applied within the broadcast ecosystem.
