Available in Multimode OM1, OM2, OM3 and OM4 and Singlemode OS1 and OS2. All connection types are offered. Multimode Fibre Patch Leads

Multimode cabling is classified according to an ISO standard as OM1, OM2, OM3 or OM4 cables, with OM as an abbreviation for optical fibre mode. The 1-4 categories are based on modal bandwidth. OM3 is a common choice for 10 Gigabit Ethernet. OM1 is becoming less prevalent.

Common types of multimode fibre optic cable are used for data and AV on Local Area Networks and in Data Centres.

Singlemode Fibre Patch Leads

Categories of OS1 and OS2 single-mode cable have specific guidelines. OS1 is constructed for indoor use. The OS2 category is also suited for the outdoors. The multiple light modes found in multimode fibre can create distortion and quality degradation on the receiving end of lengthy data transmission and therefore Single mode fibre is recommended for longer distances and between sites and locations.
